When two celebrities get married, it’s easy to be cynical and question just how long the union will last. Unfortunately, so many famous marriages seem to end in divorce that it’s hard not to think like that sometimes. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner certainly don’t help matters with the recent revelation that they’re parting ways.

While these two might have been couple goals once upon a time, it appears the love they once shared has now burned out. Should we have seen this coming? Perhaps. It does appear there were quite a few warning signs suggesting things wouldn’t last forever.

At the start of September 2023, there were rumors going around that Joe Jonas’ marriage to Sophie Turner was over. However, with no official confirmation from either party, it was hard to believe anything that was being said. A few days later, though, TMZ broke the news, saying that “Sources with direct knowledge” had told them the marriage was over.

Some people still weren’t convinced until Joe and Sophie took to Instagram not long after to confirm the news. They both posted the same statement, which announced that they’d “mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.” They were adamant it was a “united decision” and revealed that there were “many speculative narratives as to why” they were ending things.

Naturally, fans are curious as to what exactly went wrong. Did one of them do something to push the other away? Did they just naturally drift apart? Were they ever truly in love in the first place? As the couple said on social media, there are all sorts of opinions going around, so it’s hard to know what’s the truth.

According to TMZ, the marriage broke down after Joe caught his wife “saying and/or doing something” on their doorbell security camera that he didn’t like. While it’s unclear what it was that Sophie was supposedly captured doing, it was allegedly the “final straw” for the Jonas Brothers star. That’s apparently why he’s the one who filed for divorce.

If Sophie Turner was indeed caught doing something to break her husband’s trust on the security camera, we can understand why Joe called time on the marriage. However, it’s unlikely that this one alleged incident was the only thing that drove them apart. The marriage must have already been on the rocks for the singer to end things.

Apparently, there’s been tension between the two as far back as the end of 2022. That’s according to a supposed friend of Sophie’s who didn’t wish to be named when she spoke to the Daily Mail. Supposedly, they began having problems last Christmas, and these grew worse as the months went on, culminating in their divorce.
